Sakebukuro 酒袋, a traditional Japanese sake bag. Crafted from tightly woven cotton it was used during the Meiji Era (1868-1912) in sake production. The fabric gets its color from persimmon juice (kakishibu), serving as both a preservative and germ killer. This dye not only adds color but also makes the fabric stronger and protects it from insects.
